Home prices drop in Turkey

Home prices fall again in most parts of Turkey. Turkish property is still cheap but too many villas and other Turkish properties are being built. Demand had dropped considerably in most areas and Turkish property generally, is not a good investment. Property in Kusadasi , Dalaman, and Fethiye prices are all down on 2007 highs. Property here is not as bad as buying in Bulgaria.

Olu Deniz has to be one of the most famous parts of Turkey (it's close to the Greek island of Rhodes , which you can see in the distance on a clear day. ) The photo here is of Olu Deniz , which is famous for its year round outdoor activities . Paragliding, kayaking, microlighting and numerous other activities take place here . It is also the start of the famous "Lycian way" hike to Antalya, which takes days to complete ! Skiing takes place during winter in the nearby ski resort .Year round flights operate to Dalaman airport which is only a 45 minutes drive from Fethiye , including Thomas cook airlines, British Airways and many others .Fethiye has a British consulate aswell as a good public infrastructure. It is located on the Mediterranean sea and has a very warm sunny Mediterranean climate. Turkey is also a great place to invest with EU accession talks underway, a rapidly growing economy, and for the first time in Turkish history Turks and foreigners can both obtain mortgages on property, from January 2008 .
